Tiny apartment = creative workspaces

In one month, I will be moving into a much larger apartment. 1040sqft is much bigger than my 400sqft matchbox! I’m pretty excited about it though because I’ll be back in Austin, and back in the exact same apartment complex I lived in before I moved to San Marcos three years ago.

I’m more excited about living with April, my old best friend from when I lived in Dallas in 2001! We went our separate ways (I to Austin and she to Charlotte), and now she’s moving to Austin with meee! :) I have a thing with rekindling friendships and relationships after years have passed. It’s what I do. Ask my boyfriend Tim… We dated for a year 6yrs ago and we have been rekindling for almost 2yrs now! Life is crazy.

Anyway at this apartment, I’d work on projects either on my couch (okay, futon), or at my desk in my kitchen. My stove is RIGHT next to my desk. At least my feet are never cold! ;D

This was in 2007. (My bike is now at Tim’s to free up space & encourage me to ride it. Only the former has happened.)

This is from about a month ago. That painting is completely different now.

Here’s a better view of my desk. I covered the surfaces with cool wrapping paper & glass! :)

When I move, I will most likely have my desk in my own room… and I’m toying with converting our dining room to an arts & crafts studio! It’s incredibly easy for me to visualize it since I have friends who used to live in an identical apartment. I literally give myself headaches by mentally moving things around in our apartment. Lit’rally!
